A Community Workshop Built for Canberra Riders

OUR PURPOSE

Riders Lane exists to build a community where connection comes first.

We bring Canberrans together through motorcycles, hands-on activity and shared purpose — celebrating riding and restoration while looking out for each other and making sure no one has to do it alone.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to give people a welcoming, inclusive workshop and community hub where they can learn, work on their machines, and build real connections with others — because belonging is one of the most powerful things we can offer for good mental health.

OUR VISION

A Canberra where the workshop is a lifeline against isolation, not just a place to fix a bike.

Our Vision is fulfilled by:

  • Providing a physical space and a regular program of rides, workshops and social events that give people a reason to show up — and a reason to come back.
  • Connecting motorcycle enthusiasts, allied trades people, and business partners in a culture of mutual support.
  • Creating a culture of learning and belonging, where members share their skills, knowledge and time with others, and look out for one another along the way.
  • Partnering with organisations like Black Dog Ride — through the Black Dog Bunker — to make Riders Lane a stigma-free entry point to community connection and mental health support for Canberrans.

COMMUNITY

We love all motos. Road, off-road, custom or commuter and scooter. Undeniably, there really is a bit of everything here. No egos, no bias, no judgement. Unquestionably, our crew are all about inclusion and learning. Likewise, some are here for custom fabrication work, while some are here for general maintenance or simply to drink coffee.

Free WiFi on site, bathrooms, chill out lounge area and a big co-working table for those who want to bring their laptop and work in the most creative space in town.

Events

We believe that a really important part of any community is coming together for an event. We will ride together, listen to live music and eat together.

Learn

We know that no-one knows everything! Right? When it comes to motorcycles, there is always something to learn no matter what your experience. Learn some basic motorcycle safety maintenance, or something more advanced — tuning and fault finding, plastic welding, basic electrical and more. Classes are open to everyone — fees apply to non-members.

The Black Dog Bunker

Riders Lane is proud to host the Black Dog Bunker, an initiative supported by Black Dog Ride.

It's a physical space here at Riders Lane, and a regular program of rides, workshops and social get- togethers, built on a simple idea: connection and belonging are some of the most powerful things we can offer each other's mental health — and a shared love of bikes is a pretty good place to start.

You don't have to admit you need help to come to the Bunker. You just have to like bikes. Rides, workshops and coffee mornings all do the same quiet work: they give people a reason to show up, a community that knows their name, and a few more people looking out for them. Over time, that's what turns a workshop into a support network.

The Bunker is open to everyone, whether you ride or not. If you or someone you know is struggling, Lifeline (13 11 14) and Beyond Blue (1300 22 4636) are there 24/7.
